Remove the light bulb, lamp shade and harp from the table lamp touch. Squeeze the two sides of the harp to the lamp socket, so you can lift up the harp and harp from lamp base. Remove the bottom of your lamp from the lamp base access lines and the touch dimmer control. Depending on the manufacturer, the bottom of the lamp to be connected a number of ways.
Remove and disconnect the touch dimmer control. Yellow or gray cable is connected to ring terminals that connect to the nipple on the bulb. The nipple is a hollow tube with threads along the outside of the tube. Throw the old touch dimmer control.
Feel light lines with your fingers to determine who is hot and neutral. Neutral wire has ribs or ridges the complete length of the cable. Install new touch dimmer control into the battery operated table lamp. By turning an orange cable connector to the black wire from the dimmer control for smooth lamp wire that connects directly to the connector connecting the two together
